ABOUT

Jacy Meador

Owner of Seajay Promotions

In 2013, Jacy Meador received a B.A. in Music Business from The University of Texas – a degree that focused both on performance, and the practical world of the music industry. Her love of music festivals such as Old Settler’s and Austin City Limits initially drove Jacy to move to Austin, Texas at the first opportunity. There she was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Butler School of Music’s classical guitar program. Although she remained passionate about music, she hung up the classical guitar after four years of study – preferring to be behind the scenes rather than onstage.

Throughout her education Jacy stayed involved in the Americana music she loved through internships with independent singer-songwriter Terri Hendrix. A senior year internship with Dickson Productions (the force behind The MusicFest at Steamboat, The MusicFest Magazine, and RioFrioFest) turned into a full-time position that spanned 14 events over nearly seven years. Also independently employed by High Desert Entertainment (the parent company of Michael Hearne’s Big Barn Dance Music Festival) as an event coordinator and office manager, Jacy has been a key member of this festival’s team since 2015. In 2019, Jacy started Seajay Promotions as a means of further promoting the independent roots music that initially sparked her passion.
